Campus

Campus:  A plush 30 acres includes large athletic fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, woods with nature trails, and ponds – an apt green setting for the friendly arrangement of buildings that open onto the outdoors.

Enrollment:  approximately 300 students

Class Size:10 – 16 students

Geographic Area Served:  over 35 towns, including southern New Hampshire to the north, Wellesley/ Natick to the south, Harvard/ Groton to the west, and Cambridge to the east.

Diversity:  16% students of color

Financial Assistance: Approximately 13% of students receive some form of financial aid awarded by the school.

Faculty:  55 full-time and part-time teachers, approximately 75% of whom have at least one advanced degree.

Academics

Creative Arts:  There is a building dedicated to classes in art, music, and drama.  In addition there are offerings such as the Nashoba Notes Chorus and the Instrumental Ensemble.

Service Learning: Embedded in the curriculum at every level, students are actively engaged in making connections to the community.  Students participate in meaningful projects and are connected to places as nearby as a shelter in Lowell, and as far away as an elementary school in Nigeria.

Technology: There are computers school-wide and 3 computer labs.  Computer use is integrated with units of study and innovative tools such as SMART Boards offer opportunities for collaborative projects.

Athletics

Interscholastic Athletics: The upper grades girls have a participation rate of over 90%.  Offerings include field hockey, soccer, cross-country, basketball, squash, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and track and field.  These elective sports are in addition to the regular program of physical education in which all students participate.

After School Athletics: “Tuesday Fun and Fitness,” is available to students in grades one through three in the fall and Kindergarten through grade three in the spring. This offering is an introduction to team sports, noncompetitive games and exercise.

After School Programs

Extended Day:  Everyday from noon to 5:45 p.m., with activities and quiet time for students in preschool through grade 3.  Click here for more information about Extended Day.

Supervised Study:  Everyday after school from dismissal until 5:45 p.m., for students in grades 4 – 8. Click here for more information about Supervised Study.

Bridge Camp:  A program of structured activities and recreation is offered to Nashoba Brooks students preschool through grade three, beginning at the end of school until the beginning of most summer day camps.
