The curriculum is integrated across subject areas, creating a more powerful educational experience through collaboration. With small class size, teachers can provide the nurturing and guidance necessary to allow all students to become truly excited about learning and purposefully and actively engage in their experience. Children aren’t expected to fit into a mold, but rather are given support and guidance to mold their own path towards success. Special Class Trip: Chewonki Camp
As the girls begin their eighth grade year at Nashoba Brooks they travel to Chewonki, an environmental education camping program in Wiscasset, Maine, for a traditional week of outdoor challenge in a salt marsh/forest environment. In an effort to strengthen class unity, the program provides a bonding experience for both students and teachers from the eighth grade teaching team. With a focus on self-discovery, the girls learn creative problem-solving skills, trust in peers, and a willingness to take risks in a supportive group atmosphere.
