Students Consider Many High School Choices

After almost a year of research, school visits, interviews, self-reflection, and essay writing, the Grade 8 class is enjoying a variety of excellent high schools to choose from.

Director of Secondary School Placement Guida Mattison could not be more pleased for the students, “This class was highly engaged throughout this challenging process. From applying to a wide range of schools to showcasing themselves through their interviews, essays and portfolios, they set themselves up for success. As a result there were many opportunities for students to find their right fit school.”

Members of the Grade 8 class, when reflecting on the process, explained how they were nervous initially, but with support from parents and the School, found they were equipped to take care of the tasks that arose. Ananya R. mentions that "Ms. Mattison is a wonderful source of help." Mariel S. agrees, describing how Ms. Mattison "knows the system and the schools so well, which helps a ton." Several Grade 8 students, when asked how they would recommend the current 7th grade students prepare for next year’s process, responded that the most important part is to start everything as early as possible, and to trust Ms. Mattison's plan.

The long list of public, private, day and boarding school acceptances is reflective of the varied interests represented by the class of 2022 and a great example of the diversity we hope to see in our student acceptances each year.
