After weeks of hard work, Grade 3 students had the opportunity to present their Community Hero projects to their families and their interview subjects! Students were paired with educators around the School with whom they may not normally interact and tasked with learning all about these familiar faces. First, each student conducted and recorded an interview with their hero to learn about their role in the school and a little about them as an individual. Then, these notes were turned into an essay to share their findings with the rest of the community. Finally, students crafted paper murals of their subjects to help others associate the stories with the right faces.

This lesson allowed students to practice their interviewing, writing, and artistic skills and helped them create close relationships with members of the Nashoba Brooks community.
