Big Lessons from Small Players

What might we all learn from the “smaller” players on various stages?
Over the course of my career, I have become a believer that the field of education has much to learn from small schools. Small schools are—by nature and necessity—nimble, creative, and always learning. Perhaps this is why the article These are the Big Things We Can Learn from Small Nations from the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting resonated so strongly with me. Multi-stakeholder collaboration, managing uncertainty, the importance of values, communication, and the environment—these issues impact us all. Small nations have been out in front. The same could be said for small schools. What might we all learn from the “smaller” players on various stages?
