Life Lessons Learned from Honeybees

What question will you ask our bee ambassadors?
The study of bees and pollinators has long been part of our interdisciplinary curriculum at Nashoba Brooks at many levels. We have so much to learn from these extraordinary creatures—collaboration, interdependence, community, communication, the value of hard work, the importance of rest, and perhaps even a few dance moves. For years, our Grade 1 students have been our bee ambassadors, sharing their learnings through their interdisciplinary unit of study with the entire community. Led by Mel Gadd and Lower School Science Teacher Kim Russell, we will have the opportunity to bring this learning to the next level as we establish our own apiary with two Warre hives on campus. We are thrilled to have this outstanding opportunity to dig deeper into our learning about honeybees and their important role in our ecosystem and the environmental health of our local community. What question will you ask our bee ambassadors?
