Capturing Big Ideas through Small Moments

What small moment would you choose to write about?
Using one of my family’s favorite picture books, Come On Rain by Karen Hesse’s as a springboard, our Grade 3 students recently explored the skill of focusing on small moments as fodder for impactful writing. With the guidance of Ms. Rutherford, students considered how descriptive language and building of suspense can make small, familiar moments particularly compelling. What small moment would you choose to write about?
